The mind wanders away from the awareness to the outside through the five senses of the body. This is because the toxins of the mind called "ego". The ego drives the mind to seek out, not to inner core of the being - the Real Self. This is accomplished by the most subtle element, the Space. This spase element may be invoked through relaxation and meditation. The meditation helps us to watch our thoughts and clearly distinguish it from "ego". The detoxification og the mind from ego is in fact the very purpose of life.
Thus the combination of the Five Elements help the whole process effective and complete. Completeness or fullness is the very nature of our Being.
